Apple Watch puts notifications and fitness on the wrist

Apple introduces Apple Watch with notifications, health sensors, communication features, and interchangeable bands designed around the iPhone.

Apple Watch combines a small display, a digital crown, touch input, and sensors for movement and heart rate. It is designed to be worn, customized, and used with an iPhone.

Notifications are only one part of the pitch. The watch can track activity, deliver messages, show directions, and support short interactions that do not require taking out a phone.

Apple is testing whether a computer on the wrist can become a natural companion rather than another screen demanding attention. Comfort, battery life, and useful glances will decide that.
